Media Cabinets

Media cabinets can take on different forms depending on their function. The success of a good entertainment center revolves around understanding what equipment is going to be stored in it and how it is going to be used. My approach integrates timeless design elements with the flexibility to adapt to changing technologies.

The design process starts with function. I work with my clients to define the organization and function. Then we design the furniture around the way they live now and how the piece can meet their changing needs in the future. A TV cabinet might simply be there to hide the television, but more often it serves to provide an attractive place to house a variety of audio and visual equipment each with their own requirements.

Are you going to have all your media stored on your computer and be sent from there to the devices? In that case you might be looking at a delicate credenza. If you want to hide your 60" flat screen the solution could be a wall hung cabinet with tambour doors that slide out of sight.

All of these pieces of custom furniture were designed for an individual client but can serve as inspiration or a departure point for your own piece of custom woodwork.
